Abimbola Roli Craig was born on November 3rd, 1986 in Warri, Delta State to a Yoruba father and Itsekiri mother but she grew up in Lagos.
The second of three children, she attended Starland Primary School and then went to high school at Air Force Comprehensive School Ibadan. Her A-levels were completed at Oxbridge College and she graduated from the University of Buckingham, where she studied Law before moving back to Nigeria to attend Law school and got called to the Bar the year after.
She practiced law for 7 years, previously working at Webber George Egbe Solicitors as well as Stream Sowers &Kohn as an associate.
Her journey into acting and stardom came to light when she played the role of Tiwalade in the popular web series, ‘Skinny Girl in Transit’, a role she played while also working as a Producer at Ndani TV.
Skinny Girl in Transit is a web series produced by Ndani TV, and as the name implies, it is a comedy about a young Nigerian woman and her efforts to lose weight. The first episode was released in 2015.
Ndani TV also boasts of other hit shows like Analyse This, Rumor Has It and The Juice amongst its productions.
Her superb performance in Skinny Girl in Transit earned her an AMVCA nomination for Best Actress in a comedy in 2016.
Abimbola who had always struggled with issues relating to her weight faced a major health challenge in 2014 after she was diagnosed with brain tumor.
When told to make a decision between having surgery and being on pills for the rest of her life, she chose the former which was successful.
