Tell us about your career as a model. How did you get started?
I started my modeling career officially in 2017 after I participated in my first ever pageant (Miss Ruby Osun) and emerged as the Top Model. I always thought being a model was easy, I felt it was like magic and boom you’ll just blow like that lol. But then I got into it and realized it wasn’t easy at all. It requires a lot of work and effort. I wanted to call it quit many times, there were days I spent my last money on photoshoot, days I’ll spend my last naira on pageants and still not win any title because I chose not to compromise or buy my title. I remember traveling twice or thrice a week for trainings for a fashion show with my own money and still wasn’t paid one naira. It was so crazy and tiring but I kept pushing and I’m still pushing.
When did you first sign with an agency and what was that like?
I’ve never signed with any agency and that’s because I’m not ready yet.

What is one of your favorite photographs from your career so far? Who shot it?
I actually have more than one favorite photograph.
One was shot by @JOLEphotographe and this was when I started my career as a model. Jole believed so much in me and my career and will at times shoot me for free just to build my page. I’m forever grateful to him for always pushing me.
My other favorite photograph was shot by @okeoluwasegun_photography when I had my first ever collaborative shoot with him. He also believes so much in my hustle. I really can’t thank him enough for this.
To be honest, I love every pho tograph of me and I really appreciate all the creatives I’ve worked with so far. Y’all are the real MVPs.
What is your best model experience ever?
Walking on the runway, having photo sessions and also having the opportunity to groom girls. It gives me so much joy to be able to teach young girls the little I know. This is something I never had and I’m so glad I can give it to them freely.
What are the main challenges in modeling today?
Models having the belief that they have to be indecent or be involved in nudity before they can make it to the top.
Also, different people coming up with different programs and agencies just to scam girls and sleep with them. I’ve been in several situations too. The industry is just too corrupt now and it’s so disheartening.
What do you enjoy most of your profession?
I enjoy every phase of my profession because I love what I do so much and it makes me happy.
How would you describe a model life?
A models’s life is an art. Art is something that is created with imagination and skill and that is beautiful. It’s one thing for a photographer or a designer to have a concept, it’s another thing for the model to be able to bring it to reality. Being a model, you have to put in a lot of work and effort to make your skills better because you’re that imagination that has been created in the mind of the designer or photographer. A model’s life can be very tasking but it’s beautiful and amazing too.
Do you think models are able to find long lasting friendships within the industry today?
Yes I think they do. There’s always this connection you have with someone that does the same thing you do. The bond is stronger when you have like-minds.
What is your big model dream?
To have my face as the cover of VOGUE.
What is your favorite thing to do when not working?
Reading books or watching movies.
Take us through a typical day in the life of Xtatee ?
On my bed.. pressing my phone, reading, shooting embarrassing dance videos lol, learning new things on YouTube, watching movies on Netflix, eating, drinking Freshyo, drawing business plans, evaluating my life and growing my brand.
How do you keep your body in good shape?
By drinking a lot of water, eating healthy and working out.
What’s your favorite place in the world?
Wherever I call home.
Give us 5 fun facts people might not know about you yet.
1. I make dance videos when I’m alone because it makes me happy to do so.
2. I enjoy cooking and then give the food out.
3. I love baking.
4. I love playing with kids.
5. One of the things I want to do before I die is to learn how to dance like a pro lol.
