INAHURAT Unveils Maiden Universal Declaration of Human Rights Program: A Week-Long Rally for Human Dignity and Awareness
In a bid to combat human rights abuses and champion the cause of dignity for all, the Initiative Against Human Rights Abuse and Torture (INAHURAT) successfully inaugurated its Universal Declaration of Human Rights program. Marking its 75th anniversary, this initiative held a transformative week-long program from December 4th to December 11th, 2023.
This commemorative event was orchestrated in collaboration with key stakeholders, including the National Human Rights Commission, the United Nations Nigeria, and several prominent Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) such as CDHR and the Take it Back Movement.
Under the theme “HUMAN RIGHTS, AN ENTITLEMENT FOR ALL,” the program was a resounding success, delivering impactful and educational sessions aimed at enlightening members of the public about their rights as citizens. The series of events featured extensive outreach programs and the distribution of vital human rights materials, including booklets outlining the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, informative leaflets, jackets, and t-shirts emphasizing the importance of human rights.
During this momentous week, citizens were empowered with knowledge about their fundamental rights, creating an avenue for greater awareness and understanding. The initiative aimed to cultivate a sense of responsibility among individuals to stand up against any violations or encroachments on their rights.
To further fortify this drive for justice and accountability, INAHURAT provided accessible channels for reporting any instances of rights violations or infringements.
Citizens were encouraged to reach out via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or through WhatsApp at 08061360860 or 09127902545.
The program’s impact was undeniable, fostering a sense of solidarity among citizens and reinforcing the idea that the protection of human rights is the responsibility of every individual. INAHURAT remains committed to this cause and hopes to continue raising awareness and advocating for the rights and dignity of all individuals.
